THE POSITION
The Base Technician will be responsible for managing the Geolog Technical team in Aberdeen. Will be responsible for ensuring all installation of Geolog’s mobile laboratory on Drilling rigs onshore and offshore North Sea, maintenance of equipment is done as per Company requirements. The position will report directly to the Operations Manager. Responsibilities include, but not limited, to:
- Mobile Laboratory installation and equipment maintenance: To install, test, maintain, repair damaged equipment, to refurbish and control equipment returning to the base from the field
- Field support: To be in regular contact with field operations for support and assistance, to train crew members on equipment maintenance, to give field equipment support and to perform equipment installation on drilling rigs when required.
- Store: inventory and warehouse organization, monitoring the level of spares and consumables
- Technical Documentation: to ensure the technical and Health & Safety documentation is complete and updated in the mobile laboratories in the field
- The Senior Base Technician would be expected to manage a team of Technicians as well be responsible for the Monthly reporting and reporting directly to the Operations teams
REQUIREMENTS:
- Electronics and/or IT BTEC or higher
- Minimum of 2 years’ technician experience – Senior Base Technician is expected to have minimum of 3 years Oil Field experience.
· Able to pass a medical exam for working in the oil and gas offshore industry
- Full UK Driving License
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Highly organized with ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
