|
Airswift are currently working with a large EPC client in the Netherlands who are looking to recruit a Refractory Engineer for their Oil & Gas project.
As Refractory Engineer you shall be responsible to maintain the refractory related standards within the Company. You shall advise other engineers who will apply related materials within their respective requisitions (Furnace Internals section; Furnace Steel & Refractory Lining section; Static Equipment section). You will assist Engineering sections (who prepare refractory related requisitions, TBT, Vendor print review), as needed.
You shall advise construction department and Clients on related refractory material selection and application.
You shall maintain contact with refractory material suppliers for new developments in the market.
As Refractory Engineer you shall also be responsible for the Painting & Insulation. For this you perform all necessary tasks related to painting and insulation engineering activities:
* preparing technical specifications for painting- and insulation materials,
* performing Vendor document review to check suitability of the selected materials,
* coordination of painting & insulation engineering related issues with other engineering disciplines as required
* the use of available design review checklist
Furthermore, you will obtain all knowledge specific for the job e.g.:
painting, insulation and refractory lining engineering standards and specifications,
insulation and refractory lining heat transfer calculation software
painting, insulation and refractory lining engineering related practices.
Job Requirements -
General Tasks
Is aware and cares for Health, Safety & Environmental aspects during daily actions, and drives HSE performance throughout project and or internal/ external services activities.
All necessary activities related to refractory and painting & insulation engineering.
Advise / support / assist other engineers applying refractory and painting & insulation within their equipment and materials
Specific Tasks
Review Customer technical requirements and incorporate in project related refractory as well as painting & insulation specifications and standards.
Prepare Technical Specifications for refractory lining
Prepare Technical Specifications for painting & insulation.
Coordinate and advise refractory materials related issues with the Lead Engineers of engineering disciplines as required.
Coordinate and advise painting &insulation materials related issues with the Lead Engineers of engineering disciplines as required.
Assist the engineering disciplines Piping, Rotating Equipment, Static Equipment, Furnace Internals, Furnace Steel and Instrumentation in preparing insulation materials MTO's and Quantity Tracker Program input.
Communicate painting & insulation material requirements with all other engineering disciplines involved.
Perform Vendor document review to check suitability of the detailed design.
Assist the Furnace Steel section in refractory lining engineering activities as required.
Assist project in technical coordination with the Customers.
Advise the Construction Department and Clients on refractory lining materials or application.
Review the project schedule related to painting and insulation engineering activities.
The hour estimation and project reporting of Painting & Insulation commodity is included in the Piping Section reporting. Therefore, coordination with Piping Lead Engineer on following aspects of Painting & Insulation is required:
hours estimate;
* detailed planning of activities;
* timely reporting of design changes;
* reporting of status;
* progress and manpower forecast.
Ensure adequate 2nd pair of eyes check is performed by using the available design review checklists.
Incorporate lessons learned (Quality Deviation Lists, Quality Improvement Points).
Education and Experience:
Education
Technical College or BSc degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
Work experience
Min. 5 years in similar function.
Knowledge of international standards related painting and insulation materials, such as CINI, ASTM, ISO, EN and VDI 2055.
Heat transfer calculations for refractory lining (ASTM C680)
Knowledge of international standards related to Refractory lining materials, application and testing such as: API , ISO, ASTM and EN
