|
Our Client is looking for an Ad hoc Marine Control Room Operator to join their offshore team.
You will be responsible for the safe and cost effective operation and maintenance of the Facility's marine systems with minimal environmental impact in accordance with legislation, class, flag, and the integrated facility management system, known as CAMS (Compliance Assurance Management System).
The Marine Control Room Operator shall undertake the duties in the absence of the Marine Supervisor and is responsible for the marine maintenance, cargo operations, and supervision of marine personnel on-board the facility at all times.
Partake in all aspects of the cargo oil offtake operations - cargo transfer, metering, mooring / unmooring co-ordination and documentation.
Principal Accountabilities
* Ensure the correct and accurate completion of Marine Department Data and reports, including: marine logs, vessel movements, weather reports and hull tank contents, Oil content record books and Garbage record books. Stability record keeping.
* Marine Control Room and watch keeping duties. Day and night shift operations will apply.
* Ensure vessel is operated as per Stability procedures manual with respect to drafts, heel, trim and within stability parameters, during oil loading and unloading, bulk chemicals when appropriate, fuel and fresh water, ballasting operations
* Advise Marine Supervisor of any anomalies found.
* Monitoring of bilge & void spaces, de-watering as and when required.
* Operation of Marine systems in all conditions including emergency situations.
* Liaise with Marine Supervisor / Deck Foreman regarding OSV & ERRV movements
* Monitor via ARPA radar, AIS and in conjunction with ERRV, monitor / control potential incursions into platform 500m zone.
* Monitoring mooring system, taking appropriate action as and when directed by Marine Supervisor.
* Assist Marine Supervisor in flag/regulatory Inspection programmes.
* Complete / record marine planned maintenance activities
* Monitor GMDSS panel (including record book) and Aero nautical communications
* Ensure weather monitoring station is fully operational, including Helicopter weather reports
* Ensure MRU (motion reference unit) is functional
* Any other duties as defined by the OIM / Marine Supervisor
* Dangerous Goods awareness
* Stand in for the Marine Supervisor if required
* Oil offloading operations including fiscal meter operations
* Focal point for vessel positioning systems, i.e. DGPS, DARPS and Artemis
Qualification / Knowledge / Experience / Skills
* Five (5) years experience in an offshore role out with the North Sea oil & gas environment will be considered; preferably on a FPSO and two (2) year experience gained in the capacity of Marine Operator/Technician.
* Oil tanker experience with specific reference to loading / ballasting / COW and inert gas operations
* Strong personal communication and interpersonal skills; strong commitment to HSE.
* Ability to undertake work to meet acceptance criteria with respect to safety, technical integrity, cost and schedule.
* Ability to deploy engineering & operational standards/ procedures that meet both regulatory and safety standards.
* Ability to co-ordinate with project/ planning engineers to plan, monitor and control project activities.
* Input into project/ asset plans in timely fashion.
* Certification / License Guideline
* STCW95 Chief Officer preferred; lesser certificate will be considered if experience is acceptable.
* Dangerous cargo endorsement - oil
* GMDSS & CAA Licences
* Offshore certification
