Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager
Company: Arcadis Belgium
Key Skills: Computer Literate with good MSOffice skills (Excel), fluent in English and one extra language (Dutch or French), professional qualification and/or membership in RICS, minimum 5 years of experience (preferably 10), degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering, Construction or Architecture
Location: Brussels, Belgium

My client is a global consultancy and design leader in the field of built / natural assets. Foundered 1888 in the Netherlands, our client provides consultancy, project management, insight and collective design solutions to improve the quality of life in rapidly growing cities. They are headquartered in Belgium and they have more than 27,000 staff across 70 locations. My client provides the best service to their clients, coordinating internal resources and third parties/suppliers for the flawless execution of processes. Now their newly established Business Advisory Division looks for a motivated and dynamic Cost Manager to join a growing team and support large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Based on your knowledge of target prices, sector publications and internal benchmarking, you can draw up and verify cost models by yourself, from feasibility studies to detailed designs.
* You verify the measurement records for their conformity with measurement methods and contractual clauses and supervise the tendering process and the quotation presentations.
* You create financial analyses from quotations and draw up tender reports.
* You work closely with Program and Project Managers for the financial follow-up and provide advice in accordance with the contractual conditions. You also take care of the financial reporting and keep the financial dashboards up to date.
* Within the change management process, you take on an advisory role regarding the financial aspect, scope control and use of the contingency budget
* You check receivables according to actual execution and conformity and prepare payment certificates.
* You are jointly responsible for the complete data and information management regarding investment and maintenance costs
Your Background:
* You have an education in Industrial or Civil engineering, Construction or Architecture.
* You have minimum 5 years of experience degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering, Construction or Architecture
* A professional qualification and/or membership in RICS or other relevant additional training is an asset
* You have extensive knowledge of various contract types
* You are computer Literate with good MSOffice skills and programs for data management
* You are a fluent in English and French or Dutch
Additional requirements:
* You have proven experience as a cost manager and a strong affinity with the sector
* You have strong communication skills and act as an intermediary for both internal employees (Program and Project Manager, Engineers) and external parties, and this at the Senior Management level.
* You are an enthusiastic team player with an eye for detail.
* You can work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* You are self-starter and not afraid to take an own inactive
