Role synopsis
Assist the business to deliver safe, reliable and compliant operations. This is achieved by implementing programmes to manage operational risk, providing specialist advice on health and safety matters and by intervening or escalating where corrective action is appropriate.
Key accountabilities
Contribute to the development and implementation of high level strategic initiatives to drive safe, reliable and compliant operations as part of the annual NZ HSSE Plan.
Assist the business to meet the requirements of the BP Operating Management System and Local Operating Management System (LOMS).
Actively engage senior management to ensure that operational goals align with OMS requirements.
Ensure that a robust risk management framework is in place within the businesses and that NZ statutory and BP Group requirements for risk management are met. Co-ordinate the NZ Risk Compliance Committee meetings
Build and maintain an effective emergency and crisis management capability.
Monitor incident investigations, trend analyses and hazard identification programmes to identify opportunities for improvement. Escalate as required.
Essential Education
Formal qualification in a technical discipline (e.g. engineering / science)
Essential experience and job requirements
Leadership in a complex multidisciplinary role
Understanding and application of BPs Values and Behaviours
Ability to achieve through influence
Understanding of health and safety management systems
Knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation
