Pipeline Installation Lead
This role will be based out of our Subsea EPCI Contractors office located in London, UK. Key support and delivery elements may include, though not limited to oversight of Contractors development of tactical and strategic scoping essentials, recognition of opportunities/constraints to overall delivery while maintaining accountability to effectively communicate and implement strategies to best protect Company and Project interests, and leading best-in-class HSSE and Quality rigor to ensure a safe and compliant execution program.
Reporting directly to the Subsea Construction Manager, the Offshore Pipeline Installation Lead has the key role in delivering approximately 300km of rigid shallow and deepwater pipelines, ranging in diameter from 10" to 30".
Some travel will be required in this role to support various activities during the offshore execution phase, as well as at our Contractor vendor sites prior to the offshore execution campaign. During offshore execution, the Offshore Pipeline Installation Lead is expected to support the offshore activity by being present onboard our Contractors offshore assets during critical phases of the work.
This role is hugely exciting in that the selected candidate will have an opportunity to participate in a large, dynamic offshore program, with some of the worlds most highly advanced construction assets in support of a safe and predictable delivery of the Tortue Phase 1 Subsea System.
Essential Experience and Job Requirements
* Strong commitment to HSSE, Quality and Operational Leadership
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Naval, Marine, Civil or Offshore Engineering (or equivalent).
* 10-20yrs Oil & Gas Industry experience, with offshore shallow and/or deepwater pipelay experience
* Excellent communication skills (English), both written and verbal
* Working knowledge of applicable industry standards such as DNV-OS-F101, API 17D, ASME B31.8 and others as applicable for SURF scopes
* Experience working in both Greenfield and Brownfield environments
* Ability to understand and interpret welding and NDT specifications, plans and procedures. Strong knowledge of materials, welding and NDT verification and qualification regimes.
* Experienced in managing/oversight of FAT, EFAT and SIT testing routines
* Strong knowledge and experience with pipelay equipment (field joint coatings, tensioner machines, automatic ultrasonic testing (AUT) equipment, automatic and manual welding).
* Familiar with stage gate processes
* Must be willing to work offshore onboard the pipelay vessel(s) during critical operations on extended rotations offshore and/or in region. Must be in suitable physical condition to pass offshore physical as well as pass offshore survival and helicopter egress training.
* Self-Motivator with a strong bias towards scope accountability and delivery
* Experience working with multi-discipline teams with a strong skill set in interface management
* Strong inclusive communicator who can listen and evaluate options, as well as engage in crucial conversations in an approachable and respectful manner
* Delivery mindset, with history working on Project teams
Desirable Experience and Competencies
* Experience working within an Owner's organization
* Familiar with Agile Methods
* Specific experience with J-Lay and S-Lay installation methods (large diameter shallow water and ultra-deep water)
* Experience with fracture mechanics and Engineering Criticality Assessments (ECA) |
