Aker Solutions' Asset Integrity Team based in St. John's, NL, is responsible for delivering structural integrity management, integrity analysis and studies, maintainence and inspection engineering, advanced inspection and monitoring solutions for all stages of an asset's life-cycle. We are now looking for Lifting Equipment Inspectors who can strengthen our team.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
As a Lifting Equipment Inspector, you will be responsible for inspection activities in accordance with current legislation and company standards. Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:

    Implementation of inspection and certification programs for lifting equipment, both onshore and offshore

    Report and document the results of inspections and ensure that all findings are brought to the attention of the inspection engineer

    Prepare all records in an accurate, presentable and timely fashion

    Demonstrate Continuous Improvement by awareness of new developments in inspection methods and technologies

    Ensure that assigned assets are fit for purpose and that activities related to inspection management of these assets are conducted in a safe and effective manner
    Provide comments and feedback regarding lifting equipment procedures and work methods and testing programs

    Conduct documentation review of lifting equipment test certificates prior to use and update lifting equipment database as required

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

The following qualifications and personal attributes are required to effectively perform this role:

    3 years practical experience (continuous learning) in inspection, testing and recertification of lifting equipment

    Training and or certification in Lifting Gear and Crane Inspection such as Evita, LEEA, Sleipner, CraneTech, etc

    Good knowledge of relevant regulatory codes and standards

    Good knowledge of inspection and testing techniques and methodologies

    Working knowledge of computing software in a Microsoft environment

    Fitness and BST for offshore readiness

    Working with People - Demonstrates an interest in and understanding of others; listens, consults with others and communicates pro-actively; develops and openly communicates

    Following instructions and procedures - appropriately follows instructions from others without necessarily challenging authority; follows procedures and policies
