Development and Production USA (DPUSA) is responsible for Statoil’s portfolio of producing assets and planned field developments across the US. General Duties: Establish and lead a team of in-the-field IT professionals and drive re-design of the IT support structure and processes for field IT solutions. Review and manage contracts related to field IT support Understand the IT (corporate network) related needs at Statoil’s onshore field offices, plants and other related locations and proactively work to ensure those needs are met. Assist in-the-field IT support personnel and be their link into Statoil’s larger IT organization. This role will be an escalation point for the field IT support personnel for both Software and Infrastructure related issues. Deep understanding of the UON field application and hardware architecture and the data flows within this architecture. Provide / ensure necessary training is provided to in-field IT support personnel. Be a key contributor to the DPUSA IT Network by identifying and implementing IT solutions that will help make Statoil UON reach their strategic goals. Detailed Scope of Work: Responsible for 1st and 2nd line field support (Basic Desktop Software, Basic Hardware, OpenWells and eVin). Follow up cases with HP, Dell, Cisco and other vendors related to hardware maintenance and replacement. Ensure appropriate IT infrastructure support for specific field related projects (IT portion of office moves, partner office setup, equipment refresh, DBAN/recycling, etc.) Provide/present status reports in IT Meetings when needed: Issues, problems, complaints, and general information Ensure that stock of Field IT equipment’s and all the tasks related to this process is managed appropriately to ensure that IT inventory is up to date. Related training of field IT personnel. Ensure appropriate stock of Field IT equipment: maintaining stock levels, clean stock room: Proactive monitoring of end user IT equipment & Training of field IT personnel Documentation: Lessons learned, setup, inventory, meetings, teamsites, how to, diagrams, FAQs, etc. Customer follow up and interaction Coverage of Field Operations: Ensure Backfill for onsite IT resources (vacation, sick leave, etc.) & Additional support when required Participate in Regular Operational Meetings. (Bakken, Eagle Ford, Marcellus, Austin, Houston) Coordination with corporate IT service delivery solutions May be required to participate in stakeholder meetings Notice improvement potential and suggest/implement changes. Find ways to improve field IT processes, particularly related to setup and delivery IT solutions Coordination with 3rd party vendor support, installation, troubleshooting, site survey, etc. Act as focal point and interact with vendors that provide IT / Telecom services to the field Responsible for Mobile phone configuration and process for deployment in the field, Responsible for Field Cell Phone Services. Execute the proper follow up with the vendor and users and stakeholders. Field related network design and implementation knowledge (WAN, LAN, wireless)
Qualifications
10+ years working with and supporting IT solutions in the Oil & Gas industry. Experience using Oil and Gas applications related to drilling and operations, such as OpenWells and Merrick eVin. SAP experience as well as Mobile platform experience also a plus.. Experience with a variety of infrastructure technologies, such as network, wireless, video conferencing, misc. end user equipment.. Understanding of service design and/or service delivery concepts.. Experience managing remote personnel. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Will be able to work independently and have a hands-on attitude to help the UON organization achieve its stated goals.. Flexibility to travel to Statoil’s offices and field locations in the US (Texas, North Dakota and Ohio/W. Virginia). The Field IT Solutions analyst will report to DPUSA IT Manager and will be based in Statoil’s Houston office. . .
