Position Summary
   

The Project Engineer is responsible for support on small to medium-sized projects and/or individual components of larger more complex projects. Duties include development and validation of equipment and machinery used in the offshore subsea oil well production business.

   
Duties & Responsibilities
   

    Performs conceptual design work, engineering calculations and analysis.
    Prepares and checks manufacturing drawings.
    Writes or reviews technical proposals, equipment evaluations & sourcing.
    Product testing and offshore field operations of hardware.
    Prepares technical procedures (i.e. for factory acceptance test, load test procedure, etc) and technical specifications (i.e. scope of supply, master document list, design specification, etc).
    Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, applicable standards (ISO, API and ANSI), contract requirements and related specifications.
    Ensures all designs are of compatible materials and components taking into consideration environmental requirements.
    Performs design reviews and presentations with internal teams.
    Reviews and evaluates customer specifications.
    Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
    Allocates assignments of various portions of a project to the product team and to Designers/Drafters and interfaces with other engineering teams within the company.
    Performs customer design review.
    Manages engineering schedule.
    Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
    Reviews and dispositions non-conformances that have been raised during the course of project.
    Reviews project specific quality and manufacturing documents (i.e. Inspection and test plan, weld procedure specification, etc.)
    Provides manufacturing and assembly support.
    Position requires some offsite travel.
    Reviews structural analysis report.
    Approves technical procedures and specifications.
    Monitors project schedule.
    Provides technical solutions to the customer.
    Assists with product interface engineering with internal and external vendors and customer supplied equipment.
    Liaises with project managers to ensure schedules and targets are being met.
    Attends progress/interface meetings with customers on a regular basis to review the scope, requirements, and status of the project.


   
Qualifications
   

Minimum Qualification: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 4 yrs of experience

 Desired: Familiarity with ASME, ASTM, DNV, SAE, API, and Machinery Handbook is highly desirable.

Additional Information
   

Computer Skills

 

    Working knowledge of Ansys Mechanical / Workbench software.
    Working knowledge of Solid Works and AutoCAD software.
    Working knowledge of Enovia or other product Data Management System (PDM) and ERP system is preferred.
    Have a good  knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including MS Project

 

    Good verbal and written English communication skills.
    Ability to work in a team / lead a team.
    Strong interpersonal skills.
    Self motivated, confident and passionate
    Provides vision and inspiration to peers and subordinates.
    Able to make decisions in conflicting situation
