Position Summary
The Infrastructure Operations group is responsible for the operational support of the network, server and security infrastructure. The Infrastructure Operations Manager will lead a team of highly technical technologists and analyst in developing and maturing core Infrastructure monitoring and support services.
The IOC Manager primary mission is to provide process leadership specific to Oceaneering's Infrastructure. They must provide leadership support on high priority incidents to drive triage and problem resolution. Play a key role in defining SLA and particpating in post mortem documentation and reporting activities relating to outages and missed SLA's.
The candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational processes are clearly defined, documented, communicated, standardized and are audit compliant. They will be responsible for fostering team work within the group and the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage a team of highly technical individuals in developing and maturing Infrastructure monitoring services. Manage the team’s work schedule in a 24/7/365 production environment. Mentor the team by providing high level of leadership, coaching, training and goal settings. Provide leadership support on escalations of all critical infrastructure production systems. Provide input to the other business managers to improve the scalability, security, efficiency of the systems. Create policies, procedures and work instructions documenting standard processes. Ensure operational processes are clearly defined, documented, communicated, updated and standardized and are complaint with audit and change management. Manage escalations support for all aspects of infrastructure. Perform daily and monthly scripted checks and test across the infrastructure. Report on Infrastructure devices availability metrics as required by the leadership team. Partner with other support teams for continuous improvement on process, procedures and day to day operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises technologists and analyst in the IT Infrastructure group. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of IT operations experience. Working knowledge of data center infrastructure, network communications and security. Knowledge of IT products to build and maintain network topologies, security appliances, server farms etc. Understanding of Active Directory, Network protocols and Security systems. Understanding of Network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Nagios and Microsoft SCOM. Excellent technical writing skills, listening, speaking, presenting and facilitating skills.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year College or technical school; Minimum of 5 years experience in a managerial operations role.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.
