Position Summary
Inspects offshore structures, vessels and pipelines, and their appurtenances, for conformance to specifications, using fixed or preset measuring instruments
Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Work with diving contractors or individually to perform various inspections and surveys of offshore structures, vessels and pipelines. Perform cathodic protection surveys of offshore structures, vessels and pipelines. Use camera, video and written documentation techniques in the inspection and survey of offshore structures, vessels and pipelines. Use and maintain various types of inspection equipment. Perform inspection report generation via computer using various software applications. Instruct and train other personnel as needed and experience permits. Continuously learn and improve office and computer skills. May train and instruct other personnel in inspection and reporting practices and techniques. Examines materials or products for anomalies, damage, or defects, such as cracks, pits, incomplete welds, holes, dents, excessive corrosion, etc. Inspections and other statistical data in the course of underwater inspections and surveys of offshore structures, vessels and pipelines. May write inspection and administrative procedures. May act as an inspection team leader in situations requiring more than one person. Travels offshore on vessels and in aircraft. Examines coating conditions. Uses computer and various software applications to prepare, check and package various types of inspection and survey reports. May test products for structural defects, such as leaks and internal cracks, using various NDT methods. May test mechanisms for clearance and freedom of movement.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
