Job Description
Purpose / Role
Responsible to the Rigging Superintendent for the leadership and organization of the rigging and moving loads function on the site/installation to fully execute the requirements of the rigging and moving loads support service safely and effectively
Key aims and objectives
Ensure that the project work scope is completed in a safe and efficient manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or the environment To deliver a high quality lifting and hoisting function in support of the project objectives and schedule
Prime responsibilities and duties
Accountable for promoting Safety and implementing AMECs Beyond Zero Standards, Safety Leadership expectations and Engagement tools Plan & control work activities ensuring that a safe system of work is in place and followed during all lifting operations Implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the rigging work scope is completed efficiently, in compliance with LOLER and to a high standard of safety. Review and approve all lift plans developed by the site/installation rigging and moving loads function . Complete all work scopes in accordance with applicable workpack / jobcard instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches. Ensure job cards are completed and accurate progress reported Ensure time writing for the rigging and moving loads function is accurate and completed on time. Ensure the completion of probationary evaluations and assessments in accordance with AMECs competency assurance system CDCA. Manage the development of a suitable and competent work force capable of the safe execution of lifting operations, particularly Stage 1 & 2 trainee riggers.

* A Valid Competent Person Qualification issued by one of the following award bodies:
CPCS A61 Appointed Person (Blue Card)
LOLER Competent Person (Certificate of Competence OPITO)
ECITB Appointed Person Appointed Person Moving Loads (Certificate of Training) and TAP01 Planning a Rigging Operation (Certificate of Achievement)
Note: for onshore operations and construction sites, where mobile cranes are used, it is requirement that the AP has the CPCS A61 Blue Card qualification.
In addition to the above qualifications:
Lifting Equipment Inspection
Rigging Loft Management
AMEC mandatory training (Induction, RA, etc)
Managing Working at Height
Use of Fall Arrest Suspension and rescue Equipment
Working at Height/Harness Equipment User

BOSIET/Approved Offshore Medical/MIST
*All CPCS A61 Appointed Person (Blue Card) certification to be referred to Training and Competency Advisor
Experience
Demonstrable and proven experience in a Supervisory role, both in greenfield & brownfield locations, with a proven background of delivery in all aspects of Rigging, lifting and hoisting activities offshore and where applicable onshore (minimum 5 years) The ability to take ownership of the rigging functions and develop the short term look ahead schedules for the rigging teams in alignment with the project execution work plan

Demonstrate a good understanding, knowledge and commitment to the importance of HSSE safe working practices and procedures in the day to day lifting activities associated with the demands of a busy work environment
Demonstrate safety awareness and show a duty of care for others working with and around them

Fluent in the English language both in the spoken and the written word
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
Competencies technical
Be knowledgeable of the requirements of lifting equipment certification and for maintaining a register of all project owned portable lifting equipment on the installation Demonstrate the ability to read/understand procedures/ specifications/drawings/etc in particular those pertaining to rigging & lifting operations. Demonstrate the ability to achieve a high standard in the safe execution and completion of tasks associated with rigging and moving loads Demonstrate the ability to deliver all work scopes to the required/specified industry standards and project work plan. To demonstrate ability to develop complex/critical lift plans and risk assessments and approve all lift plans developed by others. |
