Purpose / Role

 

 

Undertakes day-to-day maintenance of all mechanical equipment and auxiliaries within engine rooms and other assigned areas. This is carried out in accordance with legislative requirements, company health, safety, environmental, integrity and other relevant standards and values. 

 

Prime responsibilities and duties

    Committed to MOUK incident free operations.
    Actively support a working environment based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and maintenance of a high level of asset integrity.
    Participate as a member of the Mechanical Supervisor’s team in delivering MOUK performance against targets.
    Build effective working relationships with other departments and shifts.
    Maintenance of diesel and auxiliary equipment.
    Daily level checks of diesel, water and auxiliary equipment
    Responsible for cleanliness of assigned areas.
    Carries out minor maintenance duties as required
    Maintain allocated stock levels.
    Maintain accurate and appropriate records and ensure that the data is entered into the appropriate information management systems.
    Responsible for keeping the engine room machinery operational.
    Execute duties as specified in the station/bill/emergency response procedures or as directed by the OIM.
    Comply with Company procedures and ensure a full and comprehensive handover detailing all relevant information in accordance with these procedures.
    Commit to MOUK Competence Assurance System and undertake any training and assessment required for the role.
    Decision Making Authority and Accountability (Specific examples of the type of decisions the job holder can make independently and of the areas he/she is ultimately accountable for)
        In accordance with delegation of authority
    Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of crew, and areas of environment pertaining to their position
