Purpose / Role
To ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental objectives are met whilst simultaneously optimising all activities offshore to achieve production targets safely and within budget
Key aims and objectives
Provide technical support and platform specific advice to the Production Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Construction & Commissioning, Reservoir Engineering and Drilling/Well Ops departments Holds overall accountability for the safe operation of the facility Coordinate response to emergencies Control critical situations Maintain a safe and effective working environment
Prime responsibilities and duties
Responsible for the Health, Safety and Welfare of all personnel whilst on the installation Ensure that all platform personnel are properly trained in emergency procedures Preparation and planning for installation interventions to ensure timely and efficient completion of workscopes Protect the reputation and interests of the operating company/duty holder at all times Managing offshore resources to achieve or exceed performance targets Ensuring compliance with the safety management system Ensuring compliance with the operating safety case Responsible for all personnel whilst on board the installation implementing the requirements of the Station Bill Reporting to, and communicating with the management team, as required Developing an awareness of operating costs and continually striving to reduce expenditure and to meet production targets Ensuring compliance with all statutory and company requirements Continually monitoring performance and actively implementing a programme of continuous improvement in all areas

Qualifications/Training
Essential:
HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline plus extensive experience in Oil & Gas, with adequate experience in a senior operations or maintenance technician role OR : candidate should have a substantial track record and proof of performance in a similar position Current Management of Major Emergencies Certificate issued by OPITO / RGIT or equivalent OIM Legislation and Regulations training and OIM competency-assessed Trained in Risk Assessment Techniques, COSHH Assessor and Search and Rescue to the required level to comply with the AMEC Minimum Training Matrix
Desirable:
NVQ level 3 in Processing Hydrocarbons Supervisory qualification Good technical background with substantial experience of leading multidisciplinary teams VHS Radio Operator’s Certificate
Experience
Excellent understanding of Offshore Oil & Gas Industry and of the Operations & Maintenance functions Thorough knowledge and experience of the requirements of the oil and gas industry combined with skills and experience of leading a multi discipline offshore operations and maintenance team Experienced in effective application of Permit-to-Work systems Considerable experience in hazard awareness and excellent underpinning knowledge of the nature of the principal hazards associated with an offshore installation
