Job Description
Performs simple and routine accounting operations related to employee time and payroll data for various entities and multiple states; support Payroll Specialist with computing time worked, production and prevailing wage payroll data when applicable, handling of Company payroll processes.
Roles And Responsibilities
With general supervision and little decision-making:
· Perform bulk of individual duties including compiling, analyzing, preparing and inputting payroll data. Use automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll for various entities and states.
· Review compliance with all applicable federal and state wage and hour law, rules and regulations.
· Examine and verify documents for accuracy in processing timesheets, expense reports or other accounting documents.
· Compile payroll data (garnishments, vacation time, sick leave, deductions) and analyze for accuracy and completeness.
· Assist in preparation of bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefits deductions, etc.) for management.
· Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual State and Federal Payroll Tax Filings.
· Assume initial responsibility for ensuring that Fugro (USA) Inc. conducts business in compliance with applicable federal, state, local law, rules and regulations, as well as in compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
· Maintain confidentiality concerning compensation, payroll data, personnel matters related to compensation.
· Assist with other Accounting duties as needed.
· Perform incidental duties which include, but are not limited to filing of forms and documents, clarifying questions on vendors’ statements or clients’ invoices and other duties as assigned.
· Using tact, contact various departments in order to request and obtain information.
· Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures.
· Support and encourage continuous improvement of the company’s processes, including safety program and quality management system.
· Communicate tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing.
· Maintain effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications
· Able to maintain confidentiality concerning all compensation matters.
· Possess current driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
· 1 to 3 years of accounting and general clerical experience; should include payroll.
· Computer usage, calculator and 10-key by touch.
· Good math aptitude.
Physical Qualifications
Performs moderate work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Knowledge/Skill
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred.
· 1 – 3 years accounting, payroll and general clerical experience preferred.
· Familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing and competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
