Job Description
Basic Function
The Metallurgist would be responsible for the technical aspects of the Met. Lab operations of the Welding Support Services Business Line. The position would be based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia (Middle East) and would be part of the NDT/WSS Division of Fugro-Suhaimi Ltd., Saudi Arabia.
Roles And Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
Technical responsibility of the Met. Lab operations of the Division;
Responsible for obtaining/maintaining approval of the WSS procedures and certification by various clients including Saudi ARAMCO;
Provide training to Welding Inspectors and Lab personnel to meet the client procedural requirements;
Monitor Lab testing as and when required and to perform technical audits as required;
Prepare proposals for WSS works and negotiate with clients/contract review;
Provide periodic feedback to the management on progress and performance;
Should be capable of developing the Lab facilities and introduce new techniques of Testing.
Requirements
Qualifications required:
Minimum B.E./B.Tech in Metallurgy Engineering;
Qualified for metallurgical analysis of Macro and Micro structures;
Qualified to perform, analyse the results for all mechanical tests.
Skills / experience required to do the job:
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in a similar role;
Should be capable of developing, qualifying, and approving procedures; establishing and approving techniques, interpreting codes, standards, specifications and procedures;
Must have experience with Met. Lab operations for which qualified and assigned;
Must have sufficient practical background in applicable materials, fabrication, and product technology to establish techniques to assist in establishing acceptance criteria when none are otherwise available;
Well versed with ASTM, ASME, BS and other relevant standards;
Client negotiation and marketing skills are required;
Readiness to travel across the Kingdom or outside the Kingdom as and when required for the projects;
Should have good understanding of HSEM and QMS system.
