Job Description
Job Title: CPT OPERATOR
Reports to: Senior Operator/ Drilling Supervisor
Direct reports: Assigned Staff
Authority Level: Not applicable
Roles And Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
Operational equipment
· Assesses the condition of measurement equipment based on checklists and own insight and indicates (potential) malfunctions.
· Localises malfunctions and their causes. Assesses their nature and scope and determines the time and materials needed for repair.
· Carries out maintenance and repair work.
· Installs and commissions measurement equipment.
· Assists with the operation of measurement equipment to obtain geotechnical data.
· Constructs (new) measurement equipment with the assistance of handbooks.
· Informs supervisor/operator about progress of maintenance work and indicates when more specialist intervention is needed.
Mobilizations and Demobilisations
· Mobilises measurement equipment prior to offshore work, including the assembly of various components, making use of handbooks and procedures.
· Checks stock materials on board based on a stock list and reports the necessary orders.
· Demobilises measurement equipment after use offshore, including dismantling and cleaning components.
· Maintenance and repair work to be identified and actioned to ensure equipment is working condition ready before next mobilization.
Documented data
· Records work carried out and any specific issues in the system.
· Writes work reports and malfunction reports.
Gained and shared knowledge
· Follows the necessary training courses and keeps expertise up to date.
· Draws attention to and reports improvements in work processes etc.
· Assists with writing handbooks and procedures for new and improved equipment.
· Supervises on-the-job training of less experienced Technicians.
HSEQ Responsibilities
· Complies with (company) regulations, current standards and procedures in the fields of safety, the environment, order and neatness (incl. QHSE, ISO, Safety, health & welfare and the environment).
· Keeps the workplace and equipment clean and orderly.

· Assist and cooperate with investigating incidents leading to close out of assigned actions

Basic Function:
Construction, operation, maintenance and repair of measurement equipment (on and offshore), so that measurements of the required quality can be made in time in the field (offshore).
Deployment in projects
· Carries out routine work with frequently used equipment.
· Assists with interpretation of more complex handbooks and/or work on less frequently used equipment.
· Responsible for the quality of own repair/ maintenance work.
· Carries out tests and operates equipment.
Involvement in the field
· Understands relevant procedures for frequently used equipment and acts accordingly.
· Able to carry out routine work on several types of equipment.
Product improvements / developments
· Helps seek solutions from daily work experience.
· Reports repetitive problems with equipment, working processes and hazardous situations.
Specific Additional Duties:
· Dependent on area of expertise (mechanical or electrical) assist drilling team with any technical issues related to operation, maintenance or repair of the drilling equipment.
· On completion of each project produce a project debriefing report to include but not limited to the following:
o Brief summary of project performance
o Lessons learnt
Principal Working Relationships:
· Work closely with Drilling Supervisor and Senior Operator and adhere to the responsibilities shared and or provided by them.
· Work closely the drilling team and with specialists from other Fugro Opcos or 3rd Party subcontractors to ensure safe and effective sampling and testing programs.
Requirements
· Qualifications required:
o Senior secondary vocational education or equivalent professional and intellectual capabilities.
· Skills / experience required to do the job:
o Some experience (minimum 1 year relevant working experience as a guideline).
o Familiar with the requirements of drilling for downhole wire line CPT and sampling systems.
o Ability to communicate well in both spoken and written English.

o Agility: the proven capability to be flexible, responsive, adaptive, and show initiative in times of change (e.g. priorities, work planning/location, skills/technologies, work processes, relationships), uncertainty and opportunities.
