Elastomer Modelling Engineer
Location: Katy - United States
Location: Katy – Houston, TX, United States
Modelling Engineers: Applies modelling skills to develop new polymeric parts/tools or modifies existing ones. Uses FE Analysis techniques, Computational Mechanics, Advanced Modelling, Elastomer characterization techniques and other mathematical/mechanical techniques to evaluate geometry and material properties of elastomers and other composites.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform research and development work.
Confer with engineers and physicist/chemist to conduct analyses, interpreter results and develop nonstandard new test methods.
Designs test methods and procedures for model input parameters characterization, model verification and tool longevity evaluation.
Incorporates safe work procedures in all aspects of the job while maintaining a safe working environment
Encourages safe working in other employees.
Qualifications and Experience:
Masters / PhD in Computational mechanics, Polymer Material or Mechanical Engineering or other relevant areas.
Intensive knowledge and experience in material modelling in general and fiber/fabric reinforced rubber and composites in particular.
Minimum 5 years of industrial experience in composite material modelling and development.
Special Knowledge and skills in fatigue life calculation of reinforced rubber and composites.
Experience in rubber part design and modification.
Experience in tire and/or belt manufacturing.
Familiar with polymeric material processes such as molding and casting.
Computer skills or Computer programing.
Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
