JOB LOCATION: Houston, Texas
JOB DUTIES: Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification. Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Provide technical customer service. Anticipate and solve engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes. Create numerical models which incorporate sound engineering principles and laboratory experimental data primarily in the area of fluid dynamics. Create fluid dynamics models for fluid flow inside fracture and proppant transportation. Perform analysis of fluid flow within complex fractures. Create cutting-edge simulation software in support of hydraulic fracturing products and processes in complex fracture network. Design and implement reservoir and/or wellbore fluid treatment and placement applications. Perform numerical modeling, data analysis, correlation and model development utilizing existing commercial software and assist in the development of new modeling software. Design and perform specialized tests and simulations including design and construction of modeling apparatus and data acquisition systems. Assist in the development and testing of software products. Provide field support for existing software products. Resolve technical/operational questions with representatives of other organizations. Up to 5% travel to technical conferences and project work site.
REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and one year of related experience.
Must have education, training or experience with the following:
Computational fluid dynamics;
Solid particles transport modeling;
Hydraulic fracturing
Numerical methods;
Computer programming language C or C++; and
Technical writing experience for project reports and academic papers.
