The Exploration Resource Assessment Department is seeking a top Geophysicist: Seismic Interpreter to join their world class team.
The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team to interpret seismic data both on regional and prospect scales in different tectonic regimes with 2D and 3D seismic data. The candidate should have thorough practical knowledge of seismic data acquisition and processing and must know all the limitations and pitfalls as a geophysicist. Alternatively, he/she should be conversant with thorough knowledge of sequence stratigraphic principles together with their integration into sedimentological analyses and log signatures as a geologist. In addition, the candidate should have good experience for well to seismic tie, horizon picking, mapping, velocity modeling, depth conversion and have the ability provide meaningful results using seismic attributes. The candidate’s ability to systematically organize and retrieve existing seismic data is highly required. The ability to timely and effectively generate new play concepts in frontier areas both in clastic and carbonate depositional environments is a must, with the addition of being able to produce high quality prospects as a plus.
Minimum Requirements
As a successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Geoscience, and a Master’s degree in Geosciences is preferred.
Industry experience of 10 years is required including a minimum of 5 years as seismic interpreter for exploration and/or regional teams using Petrel.
Preference will be given to more experienced Explorationists having had a successful track record with a major independent oil and gas company who exhibit strong analytical skills, technical ability and good communication skills.
