ROLE SYNOPSIS Manage a mechanical design team for the provision of mechanical design services for the development of inline inspection tools. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead mechanical design team in the provision of mechanical design services for new product development, sustaining and special projects Project management including planning and preparation of feasibility/cost/budget data Prototype and product validation test definition, planning and implementation Adherence to BHI design standards; BHI engineering change management, document control, and product development processes; regulatory and industry standards. Participate in mechanical engineering design reviews Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation (manuals, etc.)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 5-10 years of mechanical design experience 3+ years 3D CAD experience Proficient with MS Office Previous large assembly mechanical design experience. P. Eng. Registration with APEGA or eligibility Extensive experience in mechanical engineering design role with project management experience, including the management of small design teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Good organizing, planning, and presentation skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Inline Inspection experience preferred 10+ years mechanical design experience preferred Experience with NX, SolidWorks, and/or Inventor preferred Experience with stage-gate product lifecycle process
